Anchorman 2 - Its Official

Destiny may well have been an old, old, wooden ship but there was never any doubt in my mind that a sequel to Anchorman would not get made.

I really couldn't be more excited, especially since Steve Carell and Paul Rudd have signed on and the fact Ferrell and McKay are busy writing the script as we speak. Today we spell "redemption"... R-O-N.

Safety Not Guaranteed Trailer

I don't know what it is but I really, really liked the trailer for Safety Not Guaranteed. For some reason it kind of echoed back to films like Explorers and IT. Don't ask, it just did.

This looks like it could be a real hit once word of mouth gets around, and I'm here to help spread that.

I'm about to shock you. For those that know me, you'll think I've lost it. Gone potty. Loopy. Insane. But its the truth.

Yes, the teaser trailer for the remake of Total Recall is out, and you know what, I like it. I'll reserve full judgement until the full trailer hits later in the week but off the bat, yeah, not too bad.

There was a time when I thought Sacha Baron Cohen was a comedy genius. Ali G, Borat, both great creations. But then I watched Bruno.

And now I've seen the trailer for The Dictator. I don't know, in some parts it looks great, in others, it looks like a sad, unfunny Adam Sandler vehicle. And these days, that's as bad as it gets.

Kubrick's Personal Copy Of The Shining

Stephen King adaptations are rife throughout the movie world, but the most celebrated of all is probably the most stripped down.

Stanley Kubrick's The Shining is one of the greatest horror films ever made. King hated it, Kubrick didn't think much of the book so, as a movie geek, seeing something like this is just a joy.

Jesus Henry Christ Trailer

Independent film, a low budget film by a small studio. This is generally the definition of an Indie movie and one that encapsulate the whole essence of the Jesus Henry Christ trailer.

Its kind of a good thing, but why do they always make these trailers the same? I'd like to see something a little different in an indie trailer but this seems to be the trend. Hey Ho.

The (Totally) Phantom Menace

What is it the kids like to type these days? ROFL. LOL. LOTR? Well I suppose they all apply to the following clip even though, to fans of the original trilogy, it's still cripplingly sad to see.

Gotta love the text-to-speech guy, he should narrate everything. EVERYTHING!

Its been noted many times before on the blog that I like a good scary movie. Its also been noted that very few do actually scare me.

Now, I know I'm nails, so it should come as no surprise that I find the new trailer for Chernobyl Diaries about as scary as a sponge. This film may work for some but for me, its doubtful.

Snow White & The Huntsman Trailer

I may be getting soft in my old age but this latest trailer for Snow White and The Huntsman has me intrigued. I'd even go as far as saying that I was quite entertained by it.

I read Snow White to my little girl every other night, but I don't think I'd read her this version. God imagine if Christopher Walken read it. Worst. Bedtime. Ever.

I'm not sold on this yet. For some reason it just reminds me too much of Stephen Sommers Van Helsing. That isn't a good thing.

Vampires have got a bad rap lately, what with all this Twilight marlarkey, so you never know this might actually deliver. Either that or they'll sit and sulk for 90mins. And four movies.

Plot
With the help of three fans, The Muppets must reunite to save their old theater from a greedy oil tycoon.

Review
When was the last time you watched a film that made you feel really good about yourself.

New Prometheus Trailer Lands

Wow. Just Wow. Glimpses of Prometheus have been few and far between, but now we get our first full, in your face, trailer.

The result is something quite spectacular and, in case you already didn't know, confirms this as the must see movie of 2012.

Iron Sky Theatrical Trailer

For those that visit the site regularly (and I know I've let you down recently), you'll know that I've been following a film call Iron Sky.

Well the theatrical trailer is now out and available for our viewing pleasure. Initial verdict? A tad more lavish than I'd expected, but still looks good. C'mon you Nazi schwines!

I look back on Donald Sutherland's career and think why on earth has there not been more recognition for his work. Mash, Klute, The Eagle Has Landed, Animal House, Invasion Of The Body Snatchers and of course Don't Look Now.

He was cool back in the day and he's still cool now. Give this man more credible work. Oh and remember teaching is just a way to pay the bills until you finish your novel.

Moonrise Kingdom Trailer

I just love this trailer. Has Wes Anderson made a bad film? Ever? The answer your looking for, is no.

Well that was unusual. Uncle Tim's Dark Shadows looks like it could be a really good, enjoyable film. I expect no less Mr Burton.

Loving the dead-pan humour, the outlandish over-the-top characters and the general flow of the whole thing. Oh and the 70's vibe really hits home.

Just remember, Disco is NOT dead, Disco is LIFE!

On The Road Trailer

Jack Kerouac. On The Road. That should be justification enough for you to watch and enjoy the trailer embedded below just as I did.

Sam Riley, Garrett Hedlund, Kristen Stewart, Amy Adams, Kirsten Dunst, Alice Braga and Elizabeth Moss, with support from Viggo Mortensen and Steve Buscemi. Just brilliant. Although I have my eye on you Miss Stewart.

Loved [REC]. Didn't think much of [REC] 2. Couldn't care less about the american remakes. So here's the Spanish [REC] Genesis. Thoughts?

Well there's Weddings, Zombies, Chainsaws and more gore than you shake a severed arm at. What's not to love?

B1. You sunk my battleship. With Rihanna on it. What? Oh and Liam Neeson. Eh? But at least my flying spaceship and Halo guy is still alive. WTF?

Exactly. I have no idea what's going on here, all I know is that after watching this trailer I now have a splitting headache.

You know when your on a bus and an idiotic phleb starts abusing people. Don't you just wish someone would just knock him the fuck out?

Well you'll like this trailer for Bad Ass. And the original viral clip that spawned the movie. Please adopt me old man wearing a "I'm a motherfucker" T-Shirt. Or Danny Trejo.

A mysterious Hollywood stuntman, mechanic and getaway driver lands himself in trouble when he helps out his neighbour.

Review
Is Drive the coolest film of 2011? If you believe the hype, then yes. But Drive is much more than this.

The Cabin In The Woods Trailer

Why do teens still holiday to cabins in the woods? Why do they never heed the warning of the hill-billy who they meet on route to said cabin? Why should I be interested?

Well, because this looks bat-shit crazier than your normal cabiny horror film. Force fields? Hi-tech gizmo's mixed with old school scares? Ok you got me interested.

Sometimes, when you watch a movie trailer, you automatically think "this isn't a film I'm ever going to see". Maybe you're just not interested, or maybe it just looks, well, rubbish.

Men In Black 3 is most definitely the latter. Will Smith doing his Will Smith thing, Tommy Lee Jones doing his, Tommy Lee Jones thing. Just doesn't do anything for me.

Plot
A look at the life of Margaret Thatcher, the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, with a focus on the price she paid for power.

Review
As a child that was brought up during the eighties my memories of Margaret Thatcher are quite hazy.

Piranha 3DD Trailer

Now that's clever. It's in 3D and there's lots of big boobs wobbling all over the place. 3DD. Funny.

Right that's the meeting about the title done, now what about the movie itself. Oh, that's just a big pile of shit with The Hoff in it? Fair enough, the title's funny though.

Adam Sandler, I have no idea what happened, maybe you have some very serious mental health problems, but you need to go away. Go away now.

You want proof? Well if fucking Jack and Jill isn't reason enough to kill yourself, watch this god awfulness unfold in front of your face

In my mind, this is what I can do. Ascend 30 floors of chaos taking on a mini army with my mad kung fu skills? Definitely.

So in effect, The Raid is essentially a movie about me. And my skills.

I'll help you find those words that you're struggling to use to describe this trailer. Absolute Genius.

Frankenweenie is Tim Burton's remake of his own short film, shot in black and white and as Burtonesque as you'd hope for. Its exactly what I want in stop motion animation.

Its been one of the most consistently visited stories on this blog so I feel its only right to finally show you the Prometheus teaser trailer.

This Avengers Assemble trailer looks good, albeit I can't shrug the feeling of Michael Bay's Transformers and the disappointment that brings.

I could be wrong, I probably am wrong, but the fear remains. Take a look and judge for yourself.
